William Scott, MD

Psychiatrist

William Scott, MD, is an experienced psychiatrist at Guiding Light Health Care Services, LLC. At his practice, he provides comprehensive mental health, substance abuse, and developmental disability services for patients in Warner Robins, Georgia.

Dr. Scott earned his medical degree with honors from the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. He then completed his internship at Grady Memorial Hospital, a part of Grady Memorial Systems before finishing his residencies at Emory University, both in Atlanta, Georgia.

Throughout his medical career, Dr. Scott has attended several conferences and presented his research on alcoholism and other drug dependencies. He stays current with the latest advancements in his field and is licensed to practice in the state of Georgia.

Dr. Scott credits his medical directorships for teaching him the process of quality improvement in psychiatric facilities. He focuses on promoting his quality initiative of improving the accreditation and certification processes by working directly with medical staff committees, interacting with administrative personnel, and meeting state officials to represent hospitals and clinics. He has also worked with the State of Georgia licensing board to develop standards for outpatient facilities.

Outside of work, Dr. Scott is actively involved in community service. He gives weekly presentations on psychiatric and addiction issues at community forums, supervises church-based care centers for relationship and emotional counseling, and conducts psychiatric and addiction educational programs for professionals and paraprofessionals.

Martin Johnson, MD

Dr. Johnson has been practicing as a child psychiatrist since 2002. After completing his residency at university of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt and his fellowship at Emory university, Dr. Johnson has worked in a variety of settings including outpatient as well as residential facilities. He was the medical Director at Devereux Georgia residential hospital from 2007-2010.

Our Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP) are trained to treat individuals across the lifespan and focuses on the mental issues of our Clients, their families, communities and groups. They are responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and developing a treatment plan and their goal is to help diagnose and manage mental health conditions using evidence-based psychiatric treatment for people with mental disorders.

Our PMHNP’s bring a complete and holistic therapeutic approach to improve the functioning of our Clients by providing psychotherapeutic interventions, prescribing medications and often collaborating with our other healthcare providers like our licensed mental health counselors and psychiatrists. Their training emphasizes the importance of getting the whole picture of our Client’s experience, identifying both strengths and areas of vulnerability.
